"You'll Shine Someday..."

The kitten was curled up in her grandmother's lap, watching the stars as they sparkled and shined in the dark curtain that enveloped Eorzea.  There was nothing special about that night, it was humid and warm with fireflies dancing to the soft song of the local wildlife.  Crickets chirped with frogs that hummed in harmony with the birds' melody, and all the while her grandmother's creaking rocking chair kept time for nature's a capella.
Her Grandmother's voice was thick with age, accented by a time long past that most would consider 'old fashioned,' "Do you see the stars up there Talli-kitten?"
The small Miqo'te pulled herself from her thoughts and nodded looking up at them.
"Did you know.. each and every star in the sky represents a soul here in Eorzea?"
Talliah shook her head 'no.'
The elder Miqo'te smiled and continued her steady movement, staring up that them, "While Azemya shines light on our lives and our paths, Menphina lets us shine! Each star represents a child of the The Twelve and their time spent here on Hydaelyn.  Which do you think is your star Talli-cat?"
Talliah sat up in her grandmother's lap with wide blue eyes searching the sky and after a few moments passed shrugged. "I don't know, there are so many.."
Her grandmother's smile was gentle and filled with patience, "Look again Talliah, but not just with your eyes. Every Miqo'te has a special connection with his or her star, it's our gift from Menphina."
Talliah sat up straight and tried again, her tail flicking from side to side as she stared up amongst the endless stars until finally her eyes settled on one. It was small, and barely noticeable  at first glance, flashing timidly amongst all the others in the sky. She pointed up towards it squinting along the line of her finger to make sure she was pointing at just the right one. "That one,  the small shy one."
Her grandmother lowered herself to Talliah's shoulder and sighted along her pointed finger, "Oh yes, that's a good one! See how it flickers like that in the sky? It means that it is a great star! With many adventures in store for it, bursting with energy!"
Talliah wrinkled her nose staring up at it, "It looks lost to me."
The Grandmother tapped her finger gently on the Miqo'te's nose, "You'll see my Talli-cat, you'll shine brighter then them all someday."
